Biography
Patricia C. Melia, Esq. graduated from the University of Akron School of Law in Akron, Ohio. After law school, Patricia began her career in private practice with concentrations in personal injury, medical malpractice, wills, estates, guardianships, adoptions, divorce and dissolution, criminal defense, bankruptcy, collections, appeals and consumer law litigation.
In 2001, Patricia joined the Stark County Prosecutor’s Office in Canton, Ohio. As an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, Patricia handled all aspects of the investigation and prosecution of adult felony cases, including first degree murder and highly publicized cases. Patricia also worked in the appellate and civil divisions where she represented local municipalities, county boards and agencies, judges and other elected officials. During her time with the Prosecutor’s Office, Patricia litigated more than one hundred (100) jury trials.
In 2002, Patricia began teaching at Stark State University. There, she taught constitutional and criminal law.
After returning home to practice law in New Jersey, Patricia served as Assistant County Counsel for Warren County, Counsel for the Warren County Construction Board of Appeals and Special Investigator for the Morris County Office of Emergency Management. In addition, Patricia handled legal matters involving state and federal litigation and appellate practices, win such areas as municipal law, employment law, construction law, insurance coverage issues, tax laws, wills and estates.
